Environmental
At Omdeco, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. To this end, we ensure that our sourcing of materials, design and construction process aim to minimise heat loss, minimise environmental pollution and promote resource sustainability.
Specifically,
- All our timber is obtained from sustainable sources, under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) guidelines.
- All rain run-off from a Omdeco building roofs is channelled through gutters and downpipes to a rainwater butt for re-use.
- All Omdeco buildings are designed to minimise heat loss in winter and solar gain in summer.
- All construction waste is separated to maximise recycling and minimise landfill, then disposed of in line with environmental regulations.
- We ensure that no pollutants can enter or contaminate the ground.
- All timber preservatives are ecologically sound and water- soluble.
- If required, we can install solar panels or a wind-turbine generator.
By following these procedures, we aim to ensure the minimum environmental impact of your Omdeco Garden Studio, Garden Room or Garden Office in its construction and in your ongoing enjoyment of it.
